The New House and Beyond!!

We finally closed on Tuesday on the new house.  I can’t wait to move in.  As much as I like this apartment, its waaaaaaaaay small.  Dave’s term for it is “rat’s maze”.   We put some stuff in yesterday, and its dwarfed by the size of the rooms.  Just so excited to be in a place of our own.  Its such an awesome feeling.  Felt really weird.  BUt a good weird.  It feels like home immediately in there.

Training in earnest begins for Chicago.  Its so exciting and thus far, going well. Can’t wait to try for that good time there, along with seeing tons of folks in town.  I know for a fact that i’ll be posting more about the training as we go along, but let’s just say i’m psyched.  Going to gun for as good of a time as I can.  I know that this new attitude I got myself after CMM is still there.  I have an action plan, training plan – eating plan – and balance/spirit connection plan…  i’ll tweek if need be due to schedules, but for now, its all on paper.  I’ll post it on here as a link within a few days…. this way, you can make me accountable for things.  I think I’ll also add a link to the online log that i’ve started to again keep me accountable!!

Heading to Beantown for a couple of days to help adrienne out with stuff with mom.  (Mom is getting out of rehab “no matter what” today and a will need some relief the first few days.) We’re heading to dinner with Jim and Pam at O’Connor’s, then celebrating our anniversary, seeing the McA crew, and running a race, besides having a little bit of downtime before the move.   Looking forward to it.  I may be working a bit while gone, but its all good stuff that I enjoy doing.  No big deal!!

Anyway, its 3:30 am, heading to the airport in about a half hour…..

Gotta say that one of the things that have ’destroyed’ me about the early shift is that getting up at the crack of dawn is easier than ever.  Besides, I can sleep on the plane!

I look like hell in the pictures, having come out of a shower after a 14 mile run in one, and out of the gym shower in the other!! Look at the house stuff… not me.

Somewhat of a post

Been really busy these days.  ANswering posts on the various lists is really relaxing to me these days. big project at work, really want to do a good job with it; but not good enough to be ‘great’.....

Running going really well. A little bummed out that Steve Burton, of the Somerville Road Runners passed away after a pretty heroic battle with cancer.  He asks that contributions be given to Children’s Hospital, where he was the coach for their marathon team.  He was “my” coach too.  I learned so much from him. How to race, how to get really motivate myself, how to motivate others.  He was so much a part of SRR that made it so special along with tons of other folks.  I miss that in clubs here.  ITs not the same… can’t put my finger on it.

House stuff progressing awesomely.  i really can’t wait now.  Dave is in the process of posting pictures on his blog.  As soon as they are up, i’ll let you guys know so you can take a peak.  I’m too lazy to do it here, plus i really don’t have the time.

ALMOST 19 weeks to go to Chicago.  Dave came up with a GREAT idea.  Instead of me going to our fitness center (“so called fitness center, really) in the complex, he’ll be picking me up from there and take me to work… much safer and better idea, since I would get a real workout, longer workout and safer workout.  that is, until i can get into my new roads!!  Granted, I’d still be on a mill in the mornings, but its a MUCH better mill, and much nicer conditions AND getting in those 10 milers during the week wouldn’t be a huge issue.  just get to work at 7:15 am instead of at 7:00 (still OK, considering my day really doesn’t start until 7:40, and technically not until 8:00)

Half way to the weekend.  I am psyched. Nothing really exciting planned—just a bunch of workouts, and maybe a trip to universal studios to hang for a bit.  I’ll need to do some work at home—but you know, its all good and besides, i really enjoy it.

Dave is doing really well, he’s seeing better than ever, he’s always ready for something fun and exciting (a HUGE change from last year at this time when he was bummed about working at Busch Gardens for crazy hours and never seeing me, especially on weekends).....  and the best is really yet to come.  yes, soupyness, even after 16 years of wedded bliss…. sue me, I’ve been at work since 2:45 am until 4:30pm, getting up somewhere around midnight, with only 4.5 hrs of sleep….

Which reminds me, time to go lay down…. earlyday tomorrow for a great workout…
