Update time…

 Another weekend, another entry.

Training rocks.  Chicago is going to rule.  Tomorrow’s 17 miler is going to be tough.  Getting up at 4:00 am to do it.  On the road and on the mill when I get to last 3.  I’ll need more water by then anyway…..   I’m strangely enough looking forward to it.  It’ll be one of my longer runs since the spring. Going to make sure that i’m hydrated tonight.  The little things that make me happy.

I was talked into doing Race for the CUre as part of the SJB Pacers (St. Joseph-Baptist Healthcare pacers)as part of the team from work…  I had already signed up for the RFTC in Orlando, but signed up for the one in St. Pete as well.(Both are on the same day! and at the same time…. if they were a bunch of hours apart, i’d have done both….. )  The best part is that for an extra $10, I get a chip and don’t have to deal with one of the worst times for the year in 5K’s.  I also get an extra shirt.  They automatically create fundraising pages now.  I really don’t like that, but you know, but its all part of it.  It doesn’t say that you have to raise anything extra, so again, I’m not soliciting folks for money. I did include the link on the side, just so that in case you want to give.  There is no minimum that I have to raise.  I may just give a few bucks since its only me and the organzier that have registered so far.  The goal is to make us the largest health care team there, with 250 folks, and $10K raised.  um…. I don’t think so.  won’t happen. even with the recruiting effort they are planning.  I may be surprised though.  but not holding my breath.

The Starfleet International Conference was last weekend.  It was great.  Great programming, GREAT IC Host committee (I couldn’t even imagine Mikey, Tony and company doing a bad conference)  No detail was missed.  They really knew what to do, and how to get it done right.  We had a blast.  I think it was also the fact that we knew 80% of the folks there and everyone was saying hi to us… making some folks from this region really really jealous. HEEEHEEE! It just made the conference even more of the family reunion atmosphere that STARFLEET is supposed to be.

We did manage to get away from the Mirror, Mirror universe chapter from here and back “home” to the USS Hood.  We are now Joe Member and you know, its great.  It was also our ticket OUT of doing a “regional” thing today that neither one of us wanted to do.

GOOFY’s challenge will be next on the agenda after chicago.  that will rock, too…...
