Chicago training is going really well. I have to tell you that the training has been extremely cathartic after all the happenings of the past month. (More on that later). I am down about 5-8 lbs, and am feeling really good…. My only problem is finding clothes that fit right; everything is kinda sorta hanging on me right now… but it feels like everything is getting easier. Gotta push it a little, and increase the speeds on the treadmill and the intensity of the elliptical and increase the weights on the machines….. Can you say PR?? I’m definitely dedicating my marathon to mom. may have pictures on a button to wear during the race…
Dave convinced me to join up with Team In Training for the Disney Marathon. I’ve already entered with GOOFY on my own, but he figured that I can network a little, meet some new running buds, network for him… plus not feel guilty of the |”GO TEAM” cheers all along the marathon route. We’re going to a meeting on the 7th in Lithia, and the kick off meeting is on the 18th in ST. Pete. To say that a PR there would be wonderful is an understatement. Who knows what REAL training with folks will do for me… both for Disney and in Chicago…
Dave and I are doing OK with mom’s death. Its still really tough for both of us. I think we really miss her a lot. Its so hard not to pick up the phone and say hi… whether if she was here with us or in MA. We haven’t heard from Adrienne (or Evan, or any of the kids) since we got home. I would think that someone would have called during the day, at least, to make sure that we are doing OK.. You would think!!
Its really hard for us to have some her stuff around us… the toby jugs, the dogs, and hard still, the ashes. I’m lucky that i don’t have to see them naturally when walking around the house, as the urn fits in really well. As weird as that sounds.
Work is going OK. Its gonna be a little better—especially with a day or two off during the weekend. I’m psyched. the lesser OT may be tough, but you know, i really miss dave when i’m working 65-75 hours a week… so going from bed to work to gym to bed is tough. dave has been awesome about all this. ..... still doing tons for debbie. enjoying all of it, though.
there’s more, but will be posting more over the weekend…..
Oh yeah, here’s the link for the fundraising…. http://www.active.com/donate/tntscfl/tntscflLRyan
Its also on the sidebar under upcoming races. You guys know how much i hate asking for stuff, but TNT is a great thing. I’ll have more info on my honored patient after my meetingon the 8th or 17th…... and will post it here….
