... great run today; can’t wait to see what’s happening next week and then the week of the races.

Gonna TRY to post everyday next year.  Yeah, right. Something else to challenge myself with….

A really nice christmas today. Yeah, we miss mom, but this was just as nice.  We went to a friend’s house for dinner and now are just chilling at home. 

Great presents.. like I mentioned earlier… a new 3rd generation iPod, and new running shoes that I am dying to try out tomorrow night.  The best present was Dave driving me out to the Upper Tampa Bay Trail for a 4 miler that felt like heaven. I can’t believe how much I needed the run.  I guess I should know better after all these years that i need the running; and its so much a part of me that its a necessity. I’m still trying to figure that out.

We sent an email to A to wish her a Merry Christmas.  Hopefully, we’ll get an answer back. Doubt it though. Its sad.  I would have thought A would have wanted someone around (albeit virtually) this year. Oh well. I guess family isn’t as important to her as it is to us.  It means EVERYTHING.  And it doesn’t matter to her that her big brother is really hurting. Big time.

Taper time starts on Monday. Ya think I’m looking forward to it?.... Not a chance in hell.  Disney beckons in 17 days…. ya think I’m looking forward to it? You better believe it.

OK, so I missed my TNT run this morning.  Could not get up to save my butt.  BUt that is OK. I’ll make it up on Christmas Day at the Upper Tampa Bay Trail before we head to Carol’s for dinner.  BUT we did go and get me new shoes at probably the runner’s mecca of stores at the International Plaza Mall.  Called Fit2Run (www.fit2run.com).. I’ll be back.  Got fittd for a pair of Pearl Izumis… never had those before, so worth a shot.  I still have my Mizuno’s for the long runs.  They are really cool.  Have me running on a mill then around a track they have in the store…...

COming down with something, but that is OK.  Resting for a bit … oh, yeah.. got a new iPod (we both did…)...

Race reports are pending, I know I know… 

Just a quick note.  I will post race reports.  Just have to get my butt together and write them. For now, a couple of really quick thoughts. Holiday cards have been mailed, and the letter has been written. It was a really tough one to write. 

Dave is doing really good. We were able to go through a bunch of jewelry stuff of mom’s calmly. We’re also looking at stuff and and actually laughing over things.  I really had a very hard time today, though, going over to the house at Quail to make sure stuff was OK after the bad storms this morning.  But I kept quiet.  I think Dave is sensing it too. 

So our tree is up, and its really pretty. No presents this year. Waiting for some huge sale for something we both want. I’m gonna get some new running shoes, dave’s getting a new UPS.

TNT rocks, work rocks…. (too busy, but that is OK!!)

Tomorrow is another TNT training. Think I’m going for either the full 11 or just 8. The full folks are doing 16.  I have a half on Sunday, so I don’t want to push it TOO much, but we will see.  Got other things to do, so we will see. Dave wants to do some stuff, including going out to the race start of Sunday’s half…  Next Saturday is a potluck and i really enjoy those. THEN I’ll get into the 20 milers and such the following weekend.

The other news is that I am going to be a mentor during the next go around with TNT. I’m SO excited about this; and its for the San Diego race. This is so good for me; i’m actually meeting folks.  PLUS I joined the alumni for TNT…  we will definitely be meeting some folk, and maybe eventually I can talk Dave into doing a little more than just sitting there….

Holidays are coming, and its gonna be hard.
